Salt of the Earth

[Matt. 5:13-16] Jesus utilizes a common element that all those in Palestine could relate to. Salt was a very powerful influencing agent wherever it was found. However, Jesus points out that if it lost its saltiness, it lost its ability to influence — it was good for nothing. We are the salt of the earth. We are an agent of influence in our environment. This morning we are going to study five things we need to be if we are to truly be the salt of the earth.
