- Introduction
- Jesus reaffirmed the original design (Mt. 19:3-5)
- Yet there is an estimated 1-3% (not 10%) who live contrary to that design...
- And seemingly endless efforts to "normalize" homosexual behavior and alter public perception.
- But what does the Bible say about homosexuality?
- Patriarchal Law
- The Lord described the sin of Sodom & Gomorrah as "exceedingly grave" (Gen. 18:20)
- That sin exposed... (Gen. 19:4-5)
- "These indulged in gross immorality and went after strange flesh" (Jude 7)
- Mosaic Law
- Specifically condemned. (Lev. 18:22-23; 20:13)
- Related sin... (Dt. 22:5)
- Notice the consequences... (Lev. 18:24-30)
- New Testament Law
- Remember the words of Jesus. (Mt. 19:3-5)
- "Those who practice such things are worthy of death" (Rom. 1:24-32)
- "Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God?" (1 Cor. 6:9-11)
- Conclusion
- Like every other sin, homosexuality is something from which one must repent and for which one needs forgiveness to please God. (1 Cor. 6:11)
- So how do we respond?
- With truth. (Jn. 8:32; Eph. 6:17; 1 Pet. 3:15)
- With compassion. (Mt. 9:36; 1 Cor. 6:11)
